On Saturday, February 25, 2023, the fundraising event Stands with Ukraine -  DAY 2  took place at the stunning Ukrainian Institute in New York City. 

The centerpiece of the event was a series of panel discussions led by esteemed experts and honorary guests, focusing on the ongoing war in Ukraine. The discussions touched on a wide array of topics, encompassing the global political, social, and economic implications of the conflict, its cultural significance, historical context, and future projections.

Speakers, performers, and guests of honor:

  • Maria Brodskaya (Grammy-nominated multimedia artist, violinist, singer, composer, and producer)
  • Andrij Dobriansky (representative of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America)
  • Jonathan Greenwald (Chairman of the Greenwald Family Impact Foundation (TGFIF), Founder and Manager Director of Core Asset Group LLC (CAG), President and CEO of Greenpower WTE, Board member of GEM)
  • Vladislav Inozemtsev, Ph.D. (Special Advisor to MEMRI's Russia Media Studies Project, Director, Center for Post-Industrial Studies)
  • Stanislav Kucher (Journalist, ex-TV host)
  • Olena Lennon, Ph.D. (Adjunct Professor, National Security Department, University of New Haven)
  • Maksim Pokrovsky (musician, frontman of Nogu svelo)
  • Todd Price (Global Counter-Terrorism Institute, Director of Admissions, Finance, and Government Affairs (GCTI)
  • Den Tolmor (Oscar and Emmy nominee, producer, and scriptwriter of Winter on Fire: Ukraine's Fight for Freedom)
  • John McDowell (Film composer and musician, winner of Best Musical Score at the Bend Film Festival, winner of Slamdance Grand Jury Award)
  • Zhanna Alkhazova (Prize-winning soprano opera singer)


As part of the event, guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at the reception, music performances, and an art exhibit showcasing the works of Ukrainian children. 


Following the event, a 2-week silent auction was held. The proceeds from ticket sales and charitable contributions collected during the fundraising event were all dedicated to providing medical treatment for injured Ukrainian children. The initiative aimed to make a meaningful impact and offer support to those affected by the conflict in Ukraine


This event was Firefighters For Peace, in partnership with Heart & Valor Foundation, BLUE et JAUNE consulting,  GCI Planet, and Kind Deeds.
